This elegant midcentury coffee table was designed in Denmark in a style reminiscent of the “Smile” coffee table by Johannes Andersen. It is made from teak and features an opening for storing magazines and is called model 240.

Designer: Johannes Andersen

JA was born in Aarhus, Denmark in 1903. He received his certificate as a cabinet maker in 1922 and for several years, he worked for various workshops, designing pieces of furniture. In the middle of the 1930s, when Danish furniture had started to gain international attention, JA opened his own architectural workshop. His career was propelled forward in the late 1950s and early 1960s. JA is best known for his coffee table designs, bar stools and counter tops. He passed away in 1991.
